Finding Love With Craigslist

January 28th, 2011

My best friend recently placed a personals ad in Craigslist. That was, about a year ago and tomorrow, she’s going to get engaged. Sounds like a fairytale, doesn’t it? But it isn’t. Craigslist, for all those of you, who don’t know about it, is a resource site for any information you could require for any city in America and a whole host of cities out of the country too!

Craigslist Personals

The personals feature offered by Craigslist is especially useful because, unlike other personals websites, this is actually relatively safe. Translation: the chances of you meeting a stalker over here are relatively lower, because this site does not promote itself as a personals site; in fact, it is actually, a resource page. Plus, the service comes for free!

Amanda, the friend I mentioned earlier, moved to New York in spring, last year and she swears by it. Restaurants, grocery stores, malls, utility and hardware stores – you name it, Craigslist makes it easy for you to find. She also decided to try out the “personals” services offered by the site, for kicks because she was quite lonely in the big city. She joined a group (one of many) designed specifically for casual dating.

That’s where she met Frank, her fiance today! Frank, too had moved to New York a while back and had been fooling around on Craigslist one night and had decided to try it out for similar reasons as Amanda. So if you’re looking for some fun, or even a serious relationship, you could try Craigslist personals. There are, however, some rules that you must follow:

* You need to be above 18 years of age.
* You have to be careful because sometimes, even if you’re looking for some good, clean fun, you might just come across some sort of adult material.
* You must keep in mind that the authorities at Craigslist will not accept any responsibility for your use of the site.
* You must immediately report unsavoury activities.

But, do be a bit careful because, like most other personals sites, you might just come across a few vulgar personals and even gross pictures. But you need to filter those out because you might just get lucky like Amanda and Frank did.

Other Services

Apart from personals, Craigslist will help you find employment by drawing up a list of suitable jobs for you, apartments and any other amenities that you might require. This is simply because Craigslist is not a personals site; it is in fact a resource page. Craigslist covers 450 cities worldwide. In fact, all major cities in America are on it and more than 100 cities worldwide. So if you’re anywhere in the country, then you know where to turn for all your needs- Craigslist!

Introducing Craigslist – A Storehouse Of Information

January 23rd, 2011

Let’s face it, whenever we need to find any information, pertaining to a wealth of subjects such as jobs, employment, accommodation, apartments, research,- virtually anything at all, we look to Google. Google is undoubtedly the most popular search engine around and also one of the most effective.

A Bit About The Background

But you have to know how to best use Google in order for your search to yield pertinent results, you need to know exactly what you are looking for and you need to enter the name of the city and also the search criteria of the subject that you are looking for. Now, it probably does sound strange but a lot of times, we don’t know exactly what we’re looking for. This can be quite frustrating and sometimes even be a waste of time!

Have no fear, Craigslist is here. So what is this Craigslist? It is a whole storehouse of information on virtually any subject known. This was created in the year, 1995, by Craig Newmark. In fact, it was started on quite a small scale and was originally intended to serve just the San Francisco Bay area. But, by the year 2000, it had expanded and spread to cover the interests of four different cities and by 2006, this number increased phenomenally and Craigslist covered 450 cities all over the world.

Why Craigslist?

Craigslist gives you a wealth of information about any city or area that you are looking for. Moreover, the best part about it, is that you don’t need to be too computer savvy to be able to use this list. In fact, practically anyone who just has basic computer skills can grow quite adept at using it.

Connection and communication is something that Craigslist is big on. If you are looking to get in touch with someone or find out about services offered in your area, as well as certain select cities, world wide, you will definitely find the information on this site. Almost every major city, (and some minor ones too!) in the United States has been covered by Craigslist.

Another thing about Craigslist is that it provides a great platform interaction among people of different professions and from different walks of life. Discussion groups are big here, so whether you’re single, or a mother-to-be or even a musician, looking to find like minded peers, then you can just turn to Craigslist.

So, one can conclude, that while Google is great for the researcher or the scholar, Craigslist is great for practical purposes. For example, if you are relocating to a different city, then Craigslist is what you need. Oh, and in case you were wondering, the services offered by Craigslist are all completely free, so what are you waiting for? Log on to Craigslist today!

Property Manager Salary

August 20th, 2009

In today’s bad economic times more people are looking for jobs than ever before. Property management is a thriving business and is an excellent career to get into. The biggest question people ask though when searching for these types of jobs is, “How much money does a property manager make?”

Property management positions pay differently than that of other property manager job positions and companies. We are going to go over the different ways a property manager can get paid so you can make an educated decision on whether or not this career path is right for you.

The first way to be paid is by straight W2′d salary. Typical salary pay starts at about $42,000 a year and can go as high as $75,000 per year once you have had enough experience. Just like any other job, you will get raises periodically and the longer you stay at a company, the more you will get paid.

The next way to earn money is by the commission structure of pay. Variable commission is surely superior to a straight commission model. Variable commission means that you get paid based on the amount of people you recruit to the property as well as earning residual income on existing contracts you signed up previously. Straight commission does not allow for the residual income and also runs into problems with complying with the FSLA and most HOA companies do not use it.

If you are self driven and self motivated and do very well with sales, the hybrid pay model is the one for you. This is a combination of salary and commission based pay. $30,000 dollars is what you make to start plus you make 15% off of all the money that is made by the company as a whole.

Become very familiar with HOA guidelines and property management rules that have to do with the state you are looking for a job in. The more knowledge you obtain about this the easier it wil be to wow the interviewer considering you for the job.
